The Atascosa Family Crisis Center, Inc. (AFCC) was organized in April 1992 as a tax-exempt, 501(c) (3), non-profit corporation. Our purpose is to provide victims of family violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking assistance and support, enabling them to gain the strength they need to make changes in their lives. We provide valuable services that will assist individuals in times of crisis and educate the community to be aware of and to respond to the problems of violence and abuse.
The formation of the Center was made possible through the unified efforts of local governments, law enforcement, organizations and individuals who believed direct services administered from within our county would offer opportunities for more efficient and effective treatment for our rural victims who have few resources and much isolation.
